Family Promise Ministry At Dot’s House
Under the guidance of Family Promise of Butler County, Family Promise addresses the needs of families with children who are homeless in Butler County by providing shelter, meals, and comprehensive support services. Family Promise @ Dot’s House provides overnight accommodations as well as meals for families approved by Family Promise of Butler County.
Three - five families are housed at our host facility, Dot’s House, 4 times in a calendar year. Dot’s House is located next to St. Julie Billiart’s Parish Office building. Volunteers from all three parishes, St. Julie, St. Joseph, and St. Peter in Chains, can help in various capacities during our host week i.e. preparing/serving meals, cleaning, doing laundry, grocery shopping, leading activities, serving as an Overnight Leader, and assisting with setup/teardown. Overnight Leaders are ecpecially needed for this ministry. This outreach ministry is always looking for more volunteers to help serve those in need in our community.
Volunteers for this ministry must successfully complete all requirements of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Child Protection Decree.
Regional Outreach Committee
We will live out Jesus’ command to love God and love our neighbor through building relationships. We will encourage local action / networking and strive to increase our pastoral regions’ presence in the community. We will consider regional initiatives as well as issues proposed by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati or bishops.
We talk to people affected by issues in our community, nation and throughout the world. We are formed in our faith by the events we organize. We also read church documents and watch videos.
We meet once a month, in person, or via Zoom or speaker phone. In between we agree to take on a few tasks, so we can help our community love God and love our neighbor.
CRS Rice Bowl
CRS Rice Bowl is the Lenten program of Catholic Relief Services, the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. The Caring Hands Ministry
The Caring Hands Ministry knits and crochets hats, scarfs, mittens, and socks for the homeless. We also make lapghans for the critically ill at the hospital. We make prayer shawls for any parishioner that may need one. We meet on the fourth Monday of each month, except May, November, and December at 1:00 PM in the Fenmont.
Hamilton Catholic Pastoral Region Prayer Chain Ministry
“Prayer should be the key in the morning and the lock at night.”
The Prayer Line is a volunteer group who pray daily for those suffering physically, mentally, or spiritually and all who request prayers for other needs. Only the first name is given to those who pray for these special intentions.
Here is how the ministry would work. Every week the chairperson(s) of the ministry would email a prayer list to the “prayer warriors” involved in the ministry who create spiritual support to those in need. The prayer warriors would remember these intentions in their daily prayers for that week. If you would like to be a part of this ministry please email your contact information to [email protected]
St. Vincent DePaul Society
Chapters at St. Julie Billiart
The purpose of the Society is the spiritual development of the members and the living out in practical ways of the Catholic faith.
The Society hopes to help meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those who need help, whether they are in hospitals, nursing homes, homeless shelters, prisons, or in their own homes. Each day a member of the Society responds to a call for help, bearing witness to the love of Christ.
“Catholic in character, the Society is open to all who wish to live their faith by loving and serving their neighbor.” (Rule of the Society)
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is an international, Catholic lay organization, founded in 1833 in Paris by Frederic Ozanam and his companions. The conference meets the second and Fourth Wednesdays at 7:00 PM at the parish office. The conference meets to discuss weekly business, share in fellowship, and grow in its mission as Vincentians.
“The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few...” (Luke 10:2) The parish’s continued financial support is necessary for the society to function. The members of St. Vincent de Paul serve as an intermediary between those able to help and those needing help within the regional boundaries.
St. Vincent de Paul needs people with time to serve. Everyone has something to offer. Everyone has room to grow.
